teacher/exhorter track

Called to Teach. Gifted to Encourage. Equipped to Multiply.

Teacher/Exhorter Track

RockFish Church’s Teacher/Exhorter Track is an 8-hour intensive designed for those with the spiritual gifts of teaching and exhortation. This track equips participants to serve, strengthen, and be sent as part of RockFish Church’s mission to plant and disciple.

All participants who complete the classroom portion will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Beyond the Classroom

Following the 8-hour classroom training, graduates who desire to put their training into action will enter a guided 6-month practicum. Participants will receive mentorship and feedback as they engage in real-world ministry—whether through small group leadership, teaching in discipleship settings, or encouraging the body through spoken or written words.

The practicum is designed to develop confident, Spirit-led communicators who teach truth, strengthen others, and carry the mission forward—wherever God calls them. This is more than a class—it’s a call to multiply what God has placed in you.

What is the goal of the practicum?
The practicum offers hands-on experience through teaching, content development, and discipleship, all under mentorship and regular feedback. The goal is to sharpen your skills and prepare you to serve and multiply effectively.
What kinds of opportunities are available during the practicum?
Practicum participants may teach in regularly scheduled classes or worship services, co-lead podcasts, write devotionals, lead small groups, speak at events, develop teaching materials, or contribute to blogs and newsletters. There are lots of ways to get involved!
Do I need to have experience teaching or leading a group?
No current or prior experience is required. A clear sense of calling and willingness to grow is. We'll walk with you as you step into new ministry opportunities.

The first session helps participants discern their gifting. If you're unsure, this track will still offer insight and direction.

Not at all. Each participant will be paired with a mentor and be part of a supportive team environment with regular check-ins, feedback, and encouragement.
What happens after the practicum ends?
Those who complete the practicum will be prayerfully considered for future opportunities, which may include teaching, leadership roles, and participation in church planting teams.
